There is nothing like jumping into a pool and refreshing yourself under the hot summer sun. However, there are some pools out there that are completely natural and were hardly touched by human hands. Here are some of the most beautiful ocean pools around the world.
To Sua Ocean Trench, ‘Upolu Island, Samoa
In Samoa’s ‘Upolu Island, there is a swimming hole that is a staggering 30 meters deep and if you dare to climb down its wooden ladder, you will be able to enjoy its beautiful emerald-green waters. Of course, one can jump from the cliffs above, which many have done. This is one of the many pools that lead to the South Pacific.
Grotto della Poesia, Salento, Italy
This stunning pool’s name literally translates into the “cave of poetry,” and for a good reason! This stunning sinkhole, which is over 100 feet wide, is extremely close to the Adriatic Sea and attracts many tourists during the summer. If you fancy a detour from the pool, you can visit the Grotto della Poesia Piccola nearby.
Tunnels Beaches, Devon, UK
Even the British Isles have their own beautiful ocean pools, including this one. These hidden beaches appear and disappear depending on the strength of the tide and unlike other sinkholes, the “ladies beach’s” wall was man-made.
These waters were used by women during the Victorian era. Beware though, these bodies of water aren’t exactly for summer treks. Don’t expect to enjoy a comfortable dip in these waters. The cooler temperatures in these parts mean that swimming is a practice that should be done briefly, or you can expect to get a cold very quickly.
