Those who are fans of Disney animations and high-flying aerial stunts shouldn’t miss out on this performance. This show is the result of the hard work of a large team of artists, animators, and acrobats, combined with modern technologies that bring new life to beloved and well-known animations.
What to Expect From the Show
The theatre group Cirque du Soleil and Disney worked hard to create “Drawn to Life,” an incredible acrobatic spectacle featuring a touching story, fantastical costumes, animation, and amazing aerial stunts. The story tells of Julie, a young girl that seeks to complete her father’s unfinished animation. Her childhood memories and a magical pencil are there to help her bring the animation to life.
As her work progresses, it’s played out through ten incredible acrobatic acts. The audience will get to enjoy beloved animations including Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. In addition, there are a number of new animations to look forward to, made by Disney artists led by Eric Goldberg.
A Unique Cirque Experience
This project has a cast of 65 international artists. The amazing stage props are the work of an award-winning set designer Stephanie Roy. The director and show writer, Michael Laprise explains that the show portrays the physicality of animation by combining new technologies and different art forms.
Through contemporary projections combined by the stunning aerial acts, classic Disney animation sequences come to life. The audiences can expect two shows a day, starting with April 17th. Shows will be held Thursday through Saturday.
It’s yet another great reason to visit Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort.
