With so many experts these days saying it’s as necessary as it is enjoyable to spend time in nature, city-dwellers are in a panic – scrambling for more creative ways to get outdoors (and away from all the buildings).
Not that summer camping doesn’t hold its own appeal, “science” aside.
But still, who has the time? Having time and making time are two very different things, and those who didn’t grow up doing it might just not know where to start. One thing’s for sure, once you get out of the city and into the wild with your loved ones, you won’t regret it. And this list is here to help you with the rest.
If you’re going to go ahead and make the commitment, you might as well make it epic. Here are some things that’ll help fill your camping trip to its most fun potential.
1. Truck Camper These portable beds and secure places for all of your things will feel like a home away from home. They typically include a shower, toilet, kitchen, a bed, and extra space – and they hook right up to the back of a truck.
2. Smart Cooler These coolers can preserve ice for up to 14 days, and can’t be dragged off by wild bears!
3. BioLite Fire pits are essential to camping trips for both cooking and making those quintessential camping memories with friends, and this portable fire pit does even much by blowing constant air into the fire to almost totally get rid of its hated downside: nasty smoke.
4. Portable chairs comfort is important, and often neglected by those who don’t know what to expect from the outdoors. Don’t let yourself suffer – find lightweight, waterproof chairs with cupholders and you won’t have any complaints.
5. Solar Kit How did anyone ever camp without these? Part USB charger, part flashlight, and part handheld fan, these can save a life – or at least the life of the phone playing the music.
Now you have no more excuse – but we’re sorry if you just got the camping bug in the middle of winter!

Elton John – Then
Let’s be real here. Sir Elton John is a pop culture icon and for good reason! Raised in London, John learned to play the piano from an early age. By the time he was 16 years old, John began his musical career and rose to worldwide fame with hit songs including “Tiny Dancer” and “Rocket Man.” His tribute single — “Candle in the Wind 1997” — was rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, and sold over 33 million copies worldwide, not to mention that it is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and UK singles charts.
Elton John – Now
Now 73 years old, Elton John hasn’t slowed down just quite yet. In 2018, the “Your Song” singer embarked on a three-year farewell tour. Intended to be John’s final tour, it’ll consist of more than 300 concerts worldwide in total. Aside from that, for the live-action remake of Disney’s original animated movie — The Lion King — John reunited and joined forces with Tim Rice, an English lyricist that he worked with to create the award-winning soundtrack for the animated original.
Morrissey – The Smiths-Then
Legendary frontman of The Smiths, Morrissey, can be recognized for his true passion and talent to pen some of the most profound and emotional lyrics throughout the past 30 years. The Smiths produced hits including “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” and “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” but once they called it quits, Morrissey continued on alone. In 1988, Morrissey launched his solo career with “Viva Hate”, followed by “Kill Uncle”, “Your Arsenal”, and “Vauxhall and I.” The albums all produced hit singles in the UK charts.

His most recent album “Low in High School,” was released in 2017. His dedication to music resulted in him being hailed as one of the greatest lyricists in British history.
Dave Grohl – Nirvana And The Foo Fighters-Then
Dave Grohl has had one of the most impressive careers in rock and has been instrumental in the success of three bands. Grohl got his breakthrough in iconic rock band Nirvana, as their drummer, before going on to form his own band, the Foo Fighters, who have released nine studio albums to date. In addition to collaborating with other famous artists, Grohl has been heavily involved with The Queens Of The Stone Age, over the past decade.

In 2012, Grohl was estimated to be the third wealthiest drummer in the world, with a net worth of $260 million, just behind Ringo Starr and Phil Collins. Grohl has also been considered as one of the most influential rock musicians of the past 20 years, from his drumming and songwriting. Outside of music, Grohl has been an advocate for LGBT rights and spoke out against substance use, asserting that he doesn’t touch anything because it ruins lives.
Steve Tyler – Aerosmith-Then
Aerosmith’s early success in the 70s was overshadowed by the band’s consistent substance addictions, in particular by band frontman Steven Tyler. It wasn’t until 1984 that Tyler entered rehab to gain control of his life and reignite the success of the band. The band overturned their troubles with the 1989 album, Pump, which sold over 5 million copies in the U.S. and produced three top-tens. In addition, Steven Tyler broadened his horizons from this record, which won the band its first ever Grammy award.

Between 2009 and 2010, tension between the Aerosmith bandmates came to an all time high after Steven Tyler relapsed with prescription drugs, fell off stage, and then joined American Idol as a judge without telling them. However after getting treatment, the band went onto record more music. In 2013, Tyler and his songwriting partner Joe Perry, received the ASCAP Founders Award and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2016 Tyler released his debut album “We’re All Somebody from Somewhere.“
