Paul Bettany – Vision

Although Paul Bettany made his first on-screen Marvel appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, his presence can be traced back to the very first MCU movie, Iron Man. He has voiced Tony Stark’s AI system J.A.R.V.I.S. for a number of films. However, it was in Ultron when Stark took the AI and teamed up with Thor to create an android called the Vision. marvel 110

Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas

marvel 121

Hugh Jackman – Wolverine

Without a shadow of a doubt, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has been the character that the X-Men franchise has built itself around. With an adamantium skeleton that manifests itself into vicious claws, Wolverine can be optimized by one word: rage. However, Jackman recently hung his X-Men boots when he reprised his role for the last time. He portrayed an older version of the character in the movie Logan, which was critically acclaimed for essentially being a Western that happened to have Wolverine in it.

In fact, he is one of the Guardians of the Galaxy and there are many reasons to sympathize with Dave Bautista’s character. It was the MCU’s arch-supervillain Thanos who was responsible for the death of his family and Drax won’t stop until he’s got the revenge he deserves. Bautista will reprise the role in Avengers: Infinity War.

marvel 115

Dave Bautista & Sarah Jade

Together, Bassett and Vance wrote the book Friends: A Love Story. Vance is also a respected actor in his own right, starring in movies such as The Hunt for Red October.

marvel 123

Robert Downey Jr. – Iron Man

The character that started it all. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) owes a lot to the man behind the success of its first movie – Iron Man. What separates this current crop of Marvel movies from other superhero flicks are their abilities to not take themselves too seriously. That is why Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect casting choice for Tony Stark – an obnoxious know-it-all who you can’t help but love. The question is though: will Iron Man survive Infinity War?

marvel 202

Robert Downey Jr. & Susan Levin

Film producer Susan Levin is the rock that has kept Robert Downey Jr. grounded for the last 15 years. Ever since meeting on the set of the movie Gothika, the pair have been absolutely inseparable. However, due to the MCU’s policy of keeping things light-hearted and funny, it seemed like anything was possible when the first Thor movie came out in 2011. Hemsworth recently took the comedic element of Thor to another level when he was directed by Taika Waititi in the hilarious Thor: Ragnarok.

marvel 112

Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky

Before the end of that year, Cooper moved into Shayk’s New York apartment and in 2017, the couple welcomed their first child into the world – a daughter who they called Lea de Seine.

marvel 104

Paul Rudd – Ant-Man

At the darkest of times, the MCU movies have a pretty humorous tone. So it made sense when the franchise finally released a pure comedy in the form of Ant-Man. It also made sense that the casting team would bring on a comedy actor as prolific as Paul Rudd. The star of comedies such as This is 40 and I Love You, Man played the criminal-turned-superhero Scott Lang, who takes over the role of Ant-Man from its predecessor Hank Pym, who is played by Michael Douglas, of all people.

marvel 105

Without a doubt, the more high-profile character that he has portrayed is the ominous supervillain, Thanos. Brolin will also play the role of Nathan Summers aka Cable in the highly anticipated sequel to Deadpool.

marvel 107

Josh Brolin & Kathryn Boyd

The actor has come a long way and has since been in critically acclaimed movies such as No Country for Old Men and Milk. For the good part of a decade, Brolin was married to Diane Lane. One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Marvel cinema is the following: how has there not been a good Fantastic Four movie yet? Although the original movies starring Jessica Alba are considered superior movies compared to the recent Josh Trank-directed reboot, it is still clear that she couldn’t save the movie from failing, from a critical standpoint. Alba played Sue Storm, better known as the Invisible Woman. In case it wasn’t clear already, Invisible Woman is a woman who can become invisible.

marvel 117

Jessica Alba & Cash Warren

Despite the fact that her time on the Fantastic Four film series was fairly unsuccessful, there was a silver lining for Jessica Alba’s time on set. After taking some time out to focus on family life, Paquin is returning to acting in the Martin Scorcese-directed The Irishman.

marvel 57

Michael Fassbender – Magneto

Although he appears to be a villain, Magneto is a character that has many layers in both the comics and on the big screen. He may have had big shoes to fill after Ian McKellen pretty much retired from the role, but Michael Fassbender was a worthy replacement as a younger version of Magneto. The powerful mutant has the ability to manipulate metal and aims to defend the world’s mutants against the people he considers their oppressors: humans.

marvel 203

Michael Fassbender & Alicia Vikander

Although he tries to keep his personal life as private as possible, Michael Fassbender doesn’t seem to do himself any favors when he’s on set.
